What Is The Texas Fetal Heartbeat Bill?
The Fetal Heartbeat bill was passed in Texas on September 1, 2021. The bill states that you can not have an abortion in Texas if a fetal heartbeat is detected. This is usually about six weeks into pregnancy. For most women, that is about two weeks after a missed period and usually before they discover their unplanned pregnancy. This law will reduce the number of women who can get an abortion in Texas, and medical professionals who do not abide by the law will face strict penalties.
What Are My Unplanned Pregnancy Options?
With this law being passed, you and other birth mothers have two options. You can go the route of parenting and raise your child with your partner, supporting family members or yourself. By choosing to parent, you become responsible for your child and their care. Your other option is adoption. By choosing one of our private adoption agencies in Texas, you will select an adoptive family or parent to care for your child after they are born. Once your child is born and handed to the adoptive family or parent of your choice, they will become responsible for the child and their care. With this law being passed, you are now the only one that can decide on parenting or adoption.
