Choosing Adoption in Early Pregnancy
By Kaitlyn Chrisemer
Every woman, and therefore every pregnancy, is unique. Every adoption process is just as distinct. You may be the type of woman who needs to make plans plenty of time in advance. If you’ve just found out, you’re pregnant. You may already be looking to create a plan. Maybe you’ve always known that you’d want to put the baby up for adoption if this happened.
If you’re already searching “adoption center near me” in Google right after seeing a positive test, we can help. Adoption Choices of Texas is here to help with any and all adoption needs. We offer unplanned pregnancy help to birth mothers choosing adoption every day. No matter how early or late in the pregnancy you are, we can offer assistance. We’ll check in throughout the journey to make sure adoption is still what you want.

Texas Adoption Process
Once you find out you’re pregnant, consider your unexpected pregnancy options. If you then decide that you want pregnant adoption help, reach out to Adoption Choices of Texas. We can help you through the process and answer any questions you have along the way. Make sure you learn about all your options before determining whether adoption is best for you and your baby.
If you’re certain about adoption, you’ll want to start work on your adoption plan. Our staff will help you understand all your options and create a plan that meets your needs. You’ll also need to consider the birth father, as his consent is needed to move forward with the adoption process. We can help with all the necessary paperwork.
Then, you’ll need to think about what type of adoption and what kind of adoptive family you’re comfortable with. There’s open adoption, semi-open adoption, and closed adoption. We’ll talk with you to help you pick the best option for you. If you don’t want to choose an adoptive family yourself, our staff can select a family that meets your requirements. However, if you want to choose the family, we will show you your options and help you pick the best fit.
Next, all you need to do is stay healthy and safe while you make your hospital plan. A hospital plan will make sure everyone involved understands what’s going to happen during your hospital stay. This includes signing the adoption paperwork to finalize the adoption 48 hours after you give birth. If you need any special accommodations, we’ll make sure they’re arranged beforehand. We’ll make sure you know how your hospital stay will go before you even arrive.
Adoption Resources to Help
While you’re working with Adoption Choices of Texas, we want to make sure you aren’t worried about food and housing. We have resources to help with anything concerning your and the baby’s well-being. Financial assistance, safe housing, healthy groceries, and transportation can all be arranged for you if necessary.
We also offer counseling and any guidance you might need throughout this process. Your adoption counselor will help you work through your feelings surrounding giving up your baby for adoption. We want you to have a healthy adoption journey and make sure you’re comfortable every step of the way.
Adoption Choices of Texas also offers ongoing support from your adoption counselor after your adoption is finalized. Financial support can generally continue for about a month after birth, and counseling is always available. We can continue to offer to counsel or connect you with support groups for as long as you need after your adoption placement. We’re still here for you, even after finalization.
